We could take time to map out the racism and oppression we denounce, defining them with analytic precision. That wouldn’t make Balmer [at the Los Angeles Times] happy. He says he wants evangelicals to speak out. But what he means is that he wants us to say exactly what he says.
There’s a better way to speak out: Explain what we’re for — what we support. That will tell the world what we denounce.
I’d much rather be known for what I stand for than what I stand against — though the two cannot be separated. I stand for treating every person as created in God’s image, loved enough that Jesus would die for them on the Cross. That means I stand against racial prejudice. But there’s more…
I may be missing something but I am unable to find where to click in order to see your full articles. A few of them have the “Read on” link on them like “One Nation Looking Upward at God’s Glory” does but “Denouncing Evil by Standing for Good” and many others do not. I tried this on my computer as well as on my phone with the same results. I would like to read your articles but can’t for some reason. Any advice?
The link is in the first line, “From The Stream.” I’ll go back in there and add another one.
