Shoulder Surgery Tomorrow

I’m scheduled for surgery on my right shoulder tomorrow morning, to deal with a bone-on-bone joint degeneration. They say that’s better than a torn rotator cuff, but still, no matter how often I try, I can’t get anyone to promise it will be completely simple and pain-free. Instead they’re predicting I’ll be completely out of commission for things like blogging for about four days, after which I should expect to be able to do it an hour or so at a time at first.

I’ve reached the point where I’m almost looking forward to it: it’s become hard to drink a cup of coffee using my right arm, and when anything comes between me and my coffee, that’s serious business!

I may fool them on the blogging thing and be back sooner than that, but just in case, I’m pre-publishing several blog entries from the “New Christian Blogs in 2010” series. The software allows me schedule a blog post for delayed publication at a specified future time. That way I can keep things fairly alive here.

Thank you for your prayers!
