Is Discussion Possible?Brian Trapp at christianthinker.net
has been observing our dialogues about ethics here from a distance. He's
wondering if real discussion is possible when our fundamental bases for decision
making are so far apart--between the Christians/theists and the atheists who
visit here.
He raises an excellent question, and advises that
when there is major disagreement we take the topic as far back to its roots as
possible. He acknowledges we've done that here to a good extent, though he's not
so sure in regard to the way we've handled matter of homosexuality. He has
served up some real food for thought. It's a sobering follow-up to previous
thoughts on how unique this medium is.
