Return to Blogging

I'm writing on my return from a blogging sabbatical several days after I've actually made the return. My purpose for the break was to re-think what I'm trying to accomplish with this blog. Some things have been moving into focus for me.

I plan to concentrate less here on responding to every new thing that shows up in blogdom, and more on original thinking (as in my Saturday post) and on good writing by others (as in the book review I've just posted). Of course I reserve the right to break that rule whenever I see fit! The result, I hope, will be more substantive posts, though perhaps fewer of them. I have other writing projects I intend to begin that will also likely affect how much I can blog.

And there is another project I'm integrating with this one, which is a church class on "Objections to Christianity." We'll see in a few weeks how that all pulls together; for now what I know for sure is that I'll be inviting participation from readers here, both from those who actually do object to Christianity, and Christians who want to understand those issues better.
