Irony DayThese two links just showed up, both of them at the
same time in my RSS reader. Apparently it's irony day.
March
for Tolerance and Diversity
Save the Children and Sign the Decree And then there's this update a couple hours later (it really is irony day): Walking to the shops 'damages planet more than going by car' (Hat Tip to Tim Challies): "Food production is now so
energy-intensive that more carbon is emitted providing a person with enough
calories to walk to the shops than a car would emit over the same distance. The
climate could benefit if people avoided exercise, ate less and became couch
potatoes. Provided, of course, they remembered to switch off the TV rather than
leaving it on standby."
I'll still walk when I can, thank you!
(While I'm at it, I have to mention also the $1200
Swiss Army Knife Tim linked to. Don't confuse this one with a
pocketknife!)
