What Good is SNAP?

Is anybody else wondering what good SNAP previews are? (If you haven't encountered them on other blogs you won't know what I'm talking about. Consider yourself fortunate.)

They junk up a page. One careless move with a mouse and you can't see what you were reading. They don't show anything worth seeing; just a postage-stamp picture of a page. They waste bandwidth.

Okay, rant over. If you're using Apple's Safari, here's how you can put an end to this nonsense:

1. In Preferences >> Security, set Cookies to Accept Cookies Always.
2. Go to the blog where you are getting SNAPped. Hover your mouse over a SNAPped link and find the "Options" in the corner of the box. Click there.
3. Click the link to disable SNAP on all websites.
4. Press Command-R to refresh the web page.
5. Go back to Preferences >> Security and set Cookies the way you want them. This change should not cancel what you have just done.

A similar process will work in all web browsers; just make sure Cookies are enabled for all web sites when you do this.
