I’m getting word of this website crashing sometimes when comments are being posted. The problem is probably the result of my having too many plug-ins activated. Plug-ins extend the functionality of the site, which is great as long as they work, but it looks like it’s time to de-activate some of them. This will affect your experience on the blog, so I’m asking your opinion on which of these I should or should not turn off. Please let me know what you think.

I can’t live without Live Comment Preview and WP Ajax Edit Comments. I never use the other features.
As I type this comment I’m noticing something that has never occured before. The comment preview is showing up above where I am typing – in the middle of your blog post! Usually it shows up below the comment box.
I’m with Steve, except that my previews have been were they belong.
Oops. No they aren’t. As of right now it is where Steve said. That’s odd.
If comments are being saved temporarily do you think there is a way to retrieve them if an error occurs?
Well, that was weird. It was putting the preview there because of what I had quoted about how the preview is coded. It’s fixed now.
The Comment Saver cookie function either works or it doesn’t. If you were to exit a page while writing a comment, it should save the cookie and bring back what you had written. It happens automatically when you reload, or else it doesn’t happen at all. If you had a crash while writing the comment, it might work or it might not. It’s great when it does work, but it’s temperamental.
If you have the comment preview below the box where you’re writing, there shouldn’t be a need to change the post. If there is a need, it can be done just as well by correcting it in a new, short post. If it is not worth correcting in a new, short post, it might not be worth correcting otherwise.
I, for one, enjoy the “followup comments via e-mail” function so I don’t have to check the site every day to see if anyone has responded. It’s an important way to keep in contact without having to be hyper-vigilant.
