“In crises, don’t fail to help others — dailypress.com”

This morning it was time again for my quarterly guest column in the Newport News Daily Press. They titled it, In crises, don’t fail to help others.

In the two weeks since I wrote it we’ve experienced a touch of relief from rising gas prices, but I trust there’s something there that people will find relevant regardless.

Hi Mr.Gilson Your article listed in the 8/9/2008 was very inspiring. I have seen and meet people all around me that needs a helping hand. I will give you an example; I work as a police dispatcher and my co-worker is really struggling. She is a single mother with a 7year old son. She has been with our dept for several months. Some times she comes to wk without any money for food and fair to ride the city transportation bck hm. There are other fellow co-workers that can see what she is going through and they do not care to even help. They are the ones that are doing better off and they are so selfish that theyy can not even give a hand. I am in the same situation of not doing so well but as ur article says give a help in hand. If I could do better I would share a lot more. Thanks for your inspiring article I will be cutting it out to share with others.
