Views of Truth

This talk on Views of Truth was given on March 9 to the Chapel at Kingsmill. I regret that I had no control over the recording method–the microphone was far from the front of the room, so there’s room noise. It’s still audible and listen-able in spite of that, though.

    Hi Tom,
Thanks for sharing this; it is a really good talk.

You mentioned scientism and postmodernism and I was reminded again in our latest discussion with Paul that although the two are seen as opposite or contradictory views, I view them as soul-mates. The scientismist believes that nothing can be known without scientific verification. The postmodernist agrees, but realizes that because all of science’s findings are tentative and subject to change then, through science, we don’t really know anything; but since there is no other vehicle to knowledge the scientismist is committed to post-modernism is committed to not knowing anything.

Just FYI.. I think this post is destroying the formatting of your page in Firefox.

Thanks for the heads-up, doctor(logic)! I’ll have to get my resident code technician (my son) on the problem later tonight.
